Despite the down economy, niche job board grows with new product offerings

FALLS CHURCH, VA, December 21 — ClearedJobs.Net, a veteran-owned niche job board focused on the security cleared community, continues to post job board revenue growth. Many industry leaders such as General Dynamics IT, Northrop Grumman, CACI, Boeing, TASC, Invertix, ManTech, Verizon Federal Network Systems and HP have renewed and expanded their job board business, including resume database searching, job posting and social media marketing.

“Our customers value a strong multi-service product clearly focused on the security cleared community,” says John Nixon, COO, ClearedJobs.Net. From its inception in 2001, ClearedJobs.Net has only allowed cleared facilities employers access to its resume database, job posting services and Cleared Job Fairs®. “It is very important to the job seekers of our community that only those employers that can hold a security clearance have access to top security cleared talent,” adds Nixon.

In 2011, ClearedJobs.Net invested in retooling its security clearance job board to better serve the security cleared community, and the community continues to respond well to the new site. Site traffic increased 80% in 2011 vs. 2010, while new registered security cleared job seekers increased to a monthly average of over 2,800 during the same period.
The new site features many tools that recruiters use frequently such as on-demand folder creation, program statistics, resume preview windows, and applicant tracking statistics. These new features were implemented based on recruiter feedback of the key tools needed to be more organized and efficient in their recruiting of security cleared talent.

While many companies rely on automated responses to customer inquiries, ClearedJobs.Net has a live customer service team that responds to both job seekers and recruiter inquiries. Recruiting teams are under enormous pressure to show the ROI for their recruiting tools investments. ClearedJobs.Net’s customer service team monitors job postings and resume searches to provide recruiters free support and training to maximize their recruiting investment.

As social media continues to play a bigger role in recruiting, many firms in the defense and intelligence community are beginning to adopt social media into their employment branding efforts. ClearedJobs.Net has been actively involved in social media since early 2009. Our initial focus was to share job search content through popular channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and SlideShare geared toward security cleared professionals and the military community. As ClearedJobs.Net built its expertise in social recruiting it began to support its job board and Cleared Job Fair customers’ social media programs through program promotion, content sharing and training in campaign development.

“Each company and recruiter has unique recruiting needs in the security cleared community. We are constantly creating ways to support our customers recruiting investment. Be it through site updates, social media programs or just listening to what the security cleared job seekers are looking for,” states Kathleen Smith, CMO, ClearedJobs.Net. “Our growth is a testament that we have the right combination of product development and customer service.
