ClearedJobs.Net invites you to follow the Military Spouse Employment Summit via the Twitter hashtag #NMSNEvents. The Summit is presented by the National Military Spouse Network (NMSN) and will be held Friday, November 4, in Fairfax, VA.

ClearedJobs.Net CMO Kathleen Smith will present “Leveraging the Internet and Social Media in Your Job Search.” The presentation discusses the changes in the job search landscape with the advent of social media tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. It includes many practical tools and steps military spouses can implement immediately to assist their job search or promote their business interests.

Smith says, “I’m humbled by the courage, skills and tenacity of military spouses. I wanted to make my presentation worthy of the sacrifice and commitment they make for our country every day.” She adds, “Many military spouses use social media to support each other and keep in touch with their loved ones. I should be listening to how they use social media rather than teaching them.”

ClearedJobs.Net will be tweeting from the event via the @ClearedMilitary and @MilSpouseDay Twitter handles.

Speakers at the event will also address volunteering, Office of Personnel Management initiatives, legislation, military spouse friendly employers, and case studies of successful military spouses. The National Military Spouse Network is a professional development and networking organization supporting military spouses who must balance their own dreams and ambitions with the military lifestyle.
