National Cyber Security Awareness Month

Posted by Kathleen Smith

As National Cyber Security Awareness Month (October) comes to a close, we wanted to share some info from Michael Kaiser of StaySafeOnline.org. Michael touted the organization’s new public/private partnership for a unified message for cyber security at the recent FedTalks 2010. As Michael said, “We only teach one way to cross the street. We need to do the same for cyber security.” How pithy is that? StaySafe has recently launched a global public awareness campaign for online safety, Stop | Think | Connect. They also use the catchy tagline “When in doubt, throw it out.”

Here’s a link to a number of cyber security tip sheets on staying safe when gaming, social networking, using a mobile device, etc., to help guide you.
