Event to feature private companies, federal and state government agencies, colleges and universities looking for highly qualified candidates throughout the United States

Falls Church, Virginia — ClearedJobs.Net, a veteran-owned job board company exclusively serving the security cleared community, is sponsoring the 2009 Henderson Hall Education and Career Fair – an event for men and women of all ranks and from all branches of service seeking private sector employment opportunities. This job fair, which is organized by Henderson Hall’s Career Resource Management Center, will take place on XXX XX, 2009 at 1555 Southgate Road, Building 25, Keith Hall, Arlington, Virginia 22214 from 9:45 am – X:XX p.m.

“Events where our servicemen and women can directly engage with area employers for the purposes of advancing their second careers outside of the military are ones we can easily support,” says Kathleen Smith, Chief Marketing Officer for ClearedJobs.Net. “It’s critical for military personnel in transition to network, make important connections with employers and get the face-to-face time needed in preparation for future interviews and job searching. If our support of this event can help even one serviceman or woman make a key employer connection that eases their military transition endeavors, then our patronage of this job fair will be all that more meaningful.”

ClearedJobs.Net is a longtime supporter of the U.S. military in transition. “We present at local area Transition Assistant Program (TAP) classes at various military installations including Ft. Meade in Maryland and Norfolk and Dahlgren Naval Stations in Virginia,” says Smith. “These TAP workshops provide employment assistance and transition resources to separating and retiring Marines and their spouses.” TAP courses are designed to provide accurate and relevant information pertaining to career opportunities, job search techniques, networking, education and training benefits, health and life insurance options, financial planning, and veteran’s benefits and entitlements. Says Smith: “We feel that supporting the transitioning military is a very important and vital function that we provide.”

In addition to participating in TAP workshops, Smith also supports local area government agencies in a variety of career transitioning topics. She is especially active in assisting agencies with transitioning personnel who seek employment opportunities in security cleared positions in the private sector. “We routinely provide training to government agencies in the realm of career transitioning, second careers and employment opportunities with employers in search of highly qualified staff with active security clearances,” shares Smith.

Smith will also be traveling to the Norfolk, Virginia area this Fall to present at the XXXXX on date hereto further transitioning military men and women’s understanding of job searching via social networks. “Military personnel are often uninformed as to the extent of how much job seeking has shifted to online social networks,” says Smith. “It’s imperative to provide insight, direction and guidance as to how military transitioning individuals know where the jobs will be as they initiate a shift to private sector employment.”
