Memorial Day 2023

Americans. As a nation of people, we are bonded in our deep beliefs of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is a core of the founding of our Republic.

With the world around us in a constant state of chaos and conflict, Americans live in relative peace and prosperity. And for, or over 247 years, the women and men of our military have answered the call to serve and defend our country with courage, dedication and selflessness, knowing the risks were great but the cause was greater.

As is our tradition, on Memorial Day we honor the sacrifices of our fallen service members who put their lives on the line for our nation, for us and for future generations of fellow Americans.

Stories of the brave, acts big and small, sacrifice and service are what we remember. It is also a time to recognize, appreciate and offer comfort to our Gold Star Families for the losses they have suffered personally.

As proud Americans, I know you will all join me to take a moment to give our thanks to all of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines by remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice which allows all of us to think, speak and live freely. We owe it to them never to forget.
