Military Spouse Appreciation Day 2012
In 2009, ClearedJobs.Net launched an effort to publicly recognize military spouses on Military Spouse Appreciation Day, first proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan in 1984.
ClearedJobs.Net’s military spouse appreciation endeavor is an exclusive Twitter-specific initiative using the Twitter handle @milspouseday. Military spouses from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces are honored, and this year’s @milspouseday initiative is Monday, April 30 through Military Spouse Appreciation Day Friday, May 11, 2012.
The objective is to express appreciation for military spouses who often must endure months apart from their loved ones, uprooted lives, and the general uncertainty that comes with being the spouse of a military member. With a very active pool of military-to-civilian employment job seekers, ClearedJobs.Net believes recognizing the many sacrifices of military spouses is a relevant, meaningful cause.

Thank you for this special recognition on your site. Because military members move around so often, their spouses often have a difficult time finding jobs in each new location. Your efforts, ClearedJobs, on our behalf is much appreciated.
May I take a brief moment to mention that most military spouses are also parents. Therefore, when duty calls the spouse is, once again, a single parent with distraught children in their care.
Thanks for the comments Lynn, and good point about many military spouses also being in a single parenting situation. We appreciate your efforts as well.
