NASA Space Apps 2015Hackathons and challenges are all the rage — the gamification of product development and recruiting. One of the best organizations in developing unique ways to get the pubic involved is the government agency that inspires all of us to reach for the stars: NASA.

This weekend NASA has designed a 48-hour event – the SpaceApps Challenge – to inspire citizen teamwork for positive change across every skill level and discipline. NASA is on a mission to foster innovation around challenges affecting us at home and in space. This will be one of the world’s largest international annual hackathons focused on fostering innovation around the challenges affecting all of us on the ground and in space.

The virtual and offline hackathon is designed for everyone to be involved. Engineers, coders, makers, artists and storytellers will connect over mission-related challenges. The growing Space Apps community represents the core of NASA’s Open Innovation Initiative. SpaceApps is a NASA incubator innovation program.

Tampa Space AppsThroughout the world, people will be participating online and offline to support that SpaceApps Challenge.
