How Do I Follow Up After a Job Interview

Posted by Rob Riggins

First things first. Did you check your network before the interview to see who can provide information and help you?

LinkedIn. Facebook. Twitter. Word of mouth.

If you didn’t do it before the interview, do it now. If you have a good connection try to get an employee referral up front.

After Interviews

1. Send a thank you note within 24 hours.
2. Check in after their timeframe by phone or email asking about progress and stating your interest.
3. Contact the hiring manager first, then the recruiter.
4. It’s appropriate to follow up 2-4 times over a 3-4 week period.
